Lucky Cat Zoë
Collecting records since age 12, Zoë started DJing at parties in 2000 and then progressed to hosting her own club nights with friends in South London (Messy and Lucky Cat). In 2005 Zoë made her debut on Resonance FM and has since made 15 series of her radio show Lucky Cat (a spicy chop suey of music and culture) and 4 series of Lucky Cat's Sound System Stories (an oral history of sound system culture in the UK and beyond). A passionate broadcaster, she has also contributed mixes to both the BBC’s cult programme On the Wire and Soho Radio.
In 2016 Lucky Cat founded an all-female Reggae DJ collective – Sisters of Reggae. The collective of 5 DJs and 1 MC gigged all over Europe. After a fantastic 5 years, in 2021 Zoë disbanded Sisters of Reggae and continued with her passion for music, which now included art and illustration work alongside broadcasting and DJing.
Zoë has curated many nights and events in London and currently has a residency - East Asia Beat - at Spiritland with fellow DJ Jawa Jones. Over the years, Zoë has DJ’d at various festivals and events all over Europe. Zoë is a regular DJ at the fantastic Classic Car Boot Sale event in King's Cross.
